For the floor system to perform well in terms of energy efficiency and thermal insulation, it is necessary to install a three-dimensional waterproof decoupling membrane that insulates against dampness and prevents the formation of surface cracks. It is also necessary to apply a footfall soundproofing membrane, i.e. an acoustic insulation layer under the screed that completely separates it from the other building elements, thus preventing the propagation of sound waves.
FOOTFALL INSULATION MAT
Footfall soundproofing mat consisting of a bituminous glass fibre core, coupled on one side with a resilient polyester soundproofing mat and on the other with a polypropylene facing. The mat is the component that provides the greatest sound absorption.
A soundproofing product that, when applied correctly, contributes up to 24 dB to sound absorption, thanks to the increased thickness and mass of the mat. It is an acoustic insulation product placed under the screed, capable of completely separating the latter from the other building elements, thus preventing sound waves from propagating.
A waterproof, three-dimensional under-tile decoupling membrane that not only insulates against dampness, but also prevents the formation of surface cracks. It has a symmetrical structure composed of hollow triangles and circles forming a regular star pattern, each with a dovetail cut for greater grip. It is lined with a laminated non-woven anchoring fabric on the underside.
The waterproof decoupling membrane is used to neutralise tension between the screed and the tile floor covering.
